Siegfried Lenz
Siegfried Lenz , born the Prussia-Eastern March 17th 1926 with Ełk in , is one of the German writers most known of the literature of the post-war period and today. He is the author of twelve novels and many collections of short stories, tests and radiophonic or theatrical parts. He obtained the Prix Goethe with Francfort-sur-le-Main in 1999.
Biography
Lenz is the son of an officer of the customs. He finishes his studies in 1943 and is enlisted in the German navy.According to documents of the central data base of the Nazi party, it would have adhered to this last on July 12th, 1943.
Little before the end the Second world war, it deserted with the Denmark but is done prisoner of war to the Schleswig-Holstein.
The finished war, it studies philosophy, English and the history of the literature to the Université of Hamburg. It stops its studies quickly but is all the same engaged with the German daily newspaper Die Welt , of which he is editor association of 1950 to 1951. It is there that it meets that which it will marry in 1949, Liselotte (deceased on February 5th, 2006).
Since 1951, Lenz works as independent writer with Hamburg. Since 2003, he is professor emeritus with the Université Heinrich Heine of Düsseldorf.
