Sidmouth is a balneal small station of 14.400 inhabitants located on the south-western coast of the England in the county of Devon, with a score of kilometers of the town of Exeter. Built with the mouth of the Sid river, in a rural region with the splendid landscapes (in particular surrounding cliffs), she saw primarily tourism. She is also a place appreciated of the elderly (60% of the population are reprocessed).

Sidmouth accommodates each year a Festival of music folk at the beginning of August, Sidmouth Festival.

History

This small fishing port became a place with the mode at the beginning of the XIXe century, under the town rich person impulse who made there build sumptuous residences in the style géorgien and Regency, of which much became hotels.

A railway line served the village until the Sixties.
