Sidi Moumen
Sidi Moumen is an immense city of the periphery of Casablanca; this urban center remained a long time with the anguish, gathering all disinherited city: unemployment beats there records, the wild allotments push like mushrooms, a many population tries to survive. This district became sadly celebrates, since it is from there that the Kamikaze S came which perpetrated a attack in Casablanca on May 16th, 2003 and which made 45 died including 12 kamikazes.
This striking caused to awake a population casablancaise which hitherto preferred to be unaware of misery périurbaine. It is in this unhappy context that some rare associations started to be invested in the disadvantaged districts of the city; " is noted; Bayti" which was present front but also " Heart of Femmes" which organized a race on foot for sensitizing with breast cancer and which with taken its departure of Sidi Moumen and also built a lodging house for the cancerous patients.
Yasmina Filali, founder of the arts center " Foundation the East-Occident" installed in popular quarters of Reduction, has just opened another center with Sidi Moumen.

And, on March 11th, 2007, a new attack shook Casablanca, making 1 dead (the kamikaze, originating in Sidi Moumen) and four wounded in a cybercafé of Sidi Moumen.
