Side channel
A side channel is a channel established in the valley of a Rivière of which it follows the course. Generally the channeled river makes following this channel.
Certain side channels in fact were created by the progressive connection of local drains of a river, for example the side Canal of the Ardennes left to the Aisne. The opposite of a side channel is a channel with Summit pond.
