Sid Meier is a creator of video games very famous. Its talents of Programmer and Designer were worth to him to enter the Hall off Famed of the Academy off Interactive Arts and Sciences in 1999. The excellent commercial success of almost all the plays which it created was worth to him to be today regarded as one of the best originators of video games in the world.
Sid Meier founded MicroProse with Bill Stealey in 1982. It is within this company that it developed the first two shutters of the series of plays for which it is most known: Civilization . In 1996, it however leaves MicroProse and founds Firaxis Games with Jeff Briggs.
He currently lives with his wife and his two children with Hunt Valley, in the Maryland (the United States).

- Silent Service (1985), an Underwater play of simulation of S being held during the Second world war
- Sid Meier' S Pirates! (1987)
- F-19 Stealth Fighter (1988)
- Railroad Tycoon (1990), an economic play of simulation recalling the development of the first lines of Railroad to the the United States and in Europe, whereas the competition between the various companies was very important
- Civilization (1991), play of Meier which had the most success to date. He knew several versions (see below) and was sold with more than 6 million specimens.
