Sicob
SICOB was the living room French general practitioner of data processing, the networks and telecommunications.
Initially Computer show, Communication and Organization of the Office , SICOB was created in 1951 by max Hermieu and came, after the second world war, in filiation of the living room Commercial Organization coupled with the first international congress of the modern office, organized by the review " My Bureau" in 1910. During nearly forty years, the SICOB was a great annual appointment of the professionals. The last SICOB took place in 1992 (???).
With the development of NTIC, the positioning of the SICOB widened and the initials knew several variations, of which this one, brought back by Larousse of data processing (edition of 1981): International fair of data processing, telematics, communication, organization of office and office automation . It is in particular with the SICOB 1973 that the Micral was presented, first microcomputer ready with employment.
It is the SICOB (expression)
At the end of the years 1980, and the standardization which took place little by little with the takeoff of IBM_PC, the SICOB was characterized by a great expansion, very heterogeneous, computers and peripherals. The expression “it is the SICOB” remains still usually used today to indicate data-processing, software or hardware units, characterized by their lack of homogeneity.
