Siberian federal district
The Siberian federal district (in Russian: Сиби́рскийфедера́льныйо́круг) is one of the seven federal districts of Russia. It occupies a central position among the three federal districts located in Asia, but does not have to be confused with the Siberia which precisely constitutes all the Asian Russian territory. Its capital is Novosibirsk.
Characteristics
The Siberian federal district counts approximately 20.064.300 inhabitants (14 % of the population of Russia) and extends on 5.114.800 km ² (30 % of the federal territory).

The autonomous district of Aga Bouriatie is a subdivision of the oblast of Tchita, but has nevertheless the statute of federal subject. In the same way, the autonomous district of Oust-Orda Bouriatie is a subdivision of the oblast de' Irkoutsk and the autonomous districts of Evenki and Taymyria of the subdivisions of will krai of Krasnoyarsk.
