Shushtar

Shushtar شوشتر is an antique Forteresse Ville of the Khuzestan, province in south-west Iran nien. With 92 kilometers of Ahvaz, the center of the province.

History

The old name of Shushtar, going back to the period Achéménide, was of Šurkutir . The name itself, of Shushtar , is dependant in the name of an other ancient city, Suse (or Shush , into Persan). During the era of the Sassanide S, it was a city on the island of Karun.
