Shrek

Shrek is a Film in synthesized images of Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, adaptation of a fairy tale of William Steig by DreamWorks SKG in 2001.

The name Shrek is the transliteration (standardized) of the word Yiddish שרעק which means “fear” or “terror”. In German, it means “fear” ( schrecklich means “terrible”).

From another point of view, the pronunciation of “Shrek” makes think of this emitted significant sound when somebody spits something which is sometimes green, a little with the disgusting image of the character and especially in his manners.

Synopsis

Shrek, a Ogre greenish, cynical and malicious, elected residence in a Marécage which he believes being an haven of peace. One morning, whereas it leaves to make its toilet, it discovers that its marsh was invaded by magic creatures (Lutin S, Nain S, Sorcière S…). It goes then to the castle of the lord Lord Farquaad, who would have supposedly expelled these beings of his kingdom. This last wishes to marry the Fiona princess, because it is necessary for him to be married with a princess to be able to be a king, but this one is retained captive by abominable a dragon. He thus proposes a market with Shrek: if it goes to the help of the princess in her place, it will return its marsh to him. Accompanied by a talkative ass like a magpie, Shrek decides to achieve this search.

Shrek : The main character of film. It is a very dirty Ogre, grognon, recluse and ready with very to protect its Marais. In other words, Shrek is difficult. But Shrek will make unexpected knowledge as an ass which speaks, a princess, and several other characters.

Princess Fiona : The Fiona Princess appears calm, soft and sensitive, but it is in truth a true fury, sometimes arrogant. It is initiated with the Martial arts.

the Ass : At first sight, the Ass badly seems sad and liked, but it is in truth very talkative, Comique… and especially sticking! It is a faithful friend who is ready with very to give pleasure with his friends, but it is very timorous.

Farquaad : This man of very small size is of what there is of haughtier, wretched and cold in the world. He seeks a wife who will be faithful for him thanks to the assistance of the magic Miroir and he will choose the Fiona Princess.
