Showtime is a cabled television channel American which diffuses mainly films and also a few series in first diffusion (like Dead Like Me or Stargate SG-1 ), as occasionally some matches of boxing.

Showtime was launched in 1978 with like principal competitor HBO.

Showtime was also one of the first television channels cabled to diffuse a version Télé High-definition (TVHD/HDTV) of its program.
