Shora

Shora is a group Genevese founded in 1998, sailing some share between progressive Rock, noise-rock'n'roll and Rock psychedelic.

Biography

Their first mini-album, Shaping the Random , left in 2000, a digest of noise-core acid and frantic, enables them to turn in company of Converge, Suicide, Melt Banana, Dillinger Escape Plan and Botch. One year later, they divide a Split CD with Merzbow entitled Switching Rethorics and collaborate on scene with the Japanese artist for two memorable concerts in Poitiers and Rennes.

It nevertheless was necessary to await 2005 to see arriving the album Malval , left the Belgian label Conspiracy Records. Composed of 4 instrumental, hypnotic and air titles, worked out around serpentine guitars and embellished of Fender Rhodos, of analogical organ and synthetizers, the disc is an artistic rebirth with striking maturity. Strange mixture of haletant post-rock'n'roll, melodies kletzmer, rock'n'roll ambient with the Popol Vuh and of haunted psychedelism, Malval is presented in the form of a symphonic continuation in four connected movements. Federated by an elementary instrumentation rock'n'roll, the long pieces of this electric continuation sail from one structure to another without clashes, imbricating on rhythmic moving and asymmetrical attractive succession of small buckled reasons.

Malval is thus greeted like an album of reference in specialized press (Wire, Terrorizer, etc), in particular on Internet where the comparisons locates it in the wake of groups like Pink Floyd, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, King Crimson, Goblin or Glenn Branca. The Genevese quartet offers with Malval a new proof of this axiom: metal leads to all, with the proviso of leaving there.

Certain members of Shora (Vincent de Roguin and Nicola Todeschini) set up in addition the group Odio Terz . Vincent de Roguin is also member of Æthenor .
