Shooting with the metal silhouette

The shooting with the metal silhouette is a discipline of sporting shooting.

Description

Imagined with the the United States, it consists of a course of hunting in outside, marked out targets consisted heavy metal silhouettes which must rock under the power of the impact so that the point is counted. It is a competition of shooting to the Handgun or the rifle. A course includes/understands forty silhouettes which should be cut down five by five in two minutes sequences, to which are added thirty seconds for recharging. These silhouettes, by increasing order of size are: the chicken, the pig, the turkey and the moufflon. The distances from shooting are very important and arm thus are often equipped with glasses.

The interest of such a discipline is the range of the talents which it imposes. The gunner must be precise in an natural environment subjected to the climate (luminosity, wind…) and where the targets are placed until a distance from 200  meters while using a particularly powerful weapon to make fall the target.

The gunners with the metal silhouette can draw upright or lengthened on the back according to the position known as creed-moore .

There exist also two disciplines rifle long distance.

Weapons

There exist three categories of weapon:
  • Revolver production: the candidates are equipped with Revolver S of the trade who remain in a certain envelope of size and weight;
  • Gun production: the candidates are equipped with Pistolet S of the trade who remain in a certain envelope of size and weight;
  • unlimited : The gunners are free to use the handgun which they wish, all the models and customizations are authorized.
