Shlomo Mintz is a Violoniste, Altiste and Israeli Leader , born the October 30th 1957. He is regarded as one of the most important violonists of our time.

Introduction

Shlomo Mintz occurs regularly, just as easily with the violin that with the viola, with the full orchestras, and under the direction of the best chiefs. In Music of room, he works with the whole and the most famous string quartets.

Shlomo Mintz received several prestigious prices of music like the Price of the Académie Chigiana of His, the gold Tuning fork, the Grand Prix of the Disc, Gramophone Award and Edison Award.

In 2006, it was high with the rank of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Ben-Gurion University of Beer Sheva, Israel.

Biography

Born with Moscow in 1957, he emigrated with his family two years later for Israel, where he studied with Ilona Feher. At the eleven years age, it makes its beginnings of concert performer with the Philharmonic orchestra of Israel under the direction of Zubin Mehta which requires of him little time after replacing Itzhak Perlman, patient, to interpret the First concerto for violin of Paganini. It begins with the Carnegie Hall at sixteen years with the Symphony orchestra from Pittsburgh under patronage from Isaac Stern. In same time he studies with Dorothy DeLay with the Juilliard School off Music with New York.

Shlomo Mintz occurs regularly, just as easily with the Violon that with the viola, with the full orchestras, and under the direction of the best chiefs. In Chamber music, he works with the units and the string quartets most famous.

As of the eighteen years age, Shlomo Mintz also practices the direction of orchestra and directs then in the whole world like, for example, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to Great Britain, NHK Symphony Orchestra in Japan or the Philharmonic orchestra of Israel.

Shlomo Mintz is to advise musical Chamber orchestra of Israel of 1989 to 1993. In 1994, it is named to advise artistic and chief principal guest of the Symphony orchestra of Maastricht in the Netherlands with which it collaborates during four seasons as a chief and a solo violin.

Shlomo Mintz sponsors the international Academy of violin Keshet Eilon which is held each summer with the Eilon Kibbutz in Israel. It gives classes of Master in the whole world and sits in the jurys of international big competitions.

Since 2002, Shlomo Mintz is director artistic of the International festival of music of Sion - Valais and chairs of the jury of the international Contest of violin of Sion-Were worth, Suisse. With Nicole Coppey, it integrates a Jury of Children there to develop the training of young people.
