Shir Ali Khan
Shir Ali Khan (or Sher Ali Khan or Dear Ali Khan), born in 1825 and died in Kabul on February 21st 1879 was Emir of Afghanistan of 1863 with 1866 and 1868 until its death. Third wire of Dost Mohammad Khan, the founder of the dynasty Barakzai, it seized the capacity to dead of his/her father but was quickly driven out by it by his/her older brother Mohammad Afzal Khan. An internal war was followed from there, at the end of which it left victorious and regained the title of emir. Its reign was marked by the opposition of the British powers and Russian within the framework of the Big game. It tried to maintain Afghanistan in neutrality, until the release of the Second Anglo-Afghan War in 1878. Sher Ali Khan mourrut in his escape, whereas the British troops went towards Kabul, leaving the throne to his/her son Mohammad Yaqub Khan.
