Ship-owner
The ship-owner is the person who equips and exploits a Navire. It arms the ship, i.e. that it provides it in material, in supply… all that is necessary for the exploitation and maritime forwarding. Article 1 of the law of January 3rd, 1969 relating to the armament and the maritime sales lays out that " the ship-owner is that which uses the ship on his behalf that it is or not the propriétaire". the ship-owner can thus be owner of the ship or simply Affréteur.
He thus has a great part of responsibility in the use which is made boat and the living conditions of the crew.

In the case of a fishing vessel, the ship-owner is often the owner or the joint owner. Owners ship-owners are also found, this last is then at the same time captain of the ship and ship-owner.

In the case of a tradind ship, it is one of the parts in management of the contracts of Maritime transport. The contract signed between him and the charger or the Affréteur. It can be represented in the wearing of loading and/or unloading of the Cargaison by its agent.
With the construction of the ship, it is of use to hold a cabin on board under the name of cabin ship-owner .
