Presentation
Shiny Entertainment, Californian company, took off in 1994 with the exit of Earthworm Jim on Megadrive, a delirious Jeu of platform putting in scene a ground worm (English earthworm) vêtu of a combination high technology equipped with arm. In front of the success of the title Shiny Entertainment connected with ports on Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Game GEAR and Mega CD. In the course of time the popularity of the character did not decline and of the versions PC, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance were developed in addition to three after-effects:- Earthworm Jim 2 , left in 1995 for Megadrive, Saturn, Playstation, Super Nintendo Entertainment System and PC (and more tardily Game Boy Advance).
- Earthworm Jim 3D , left in 1999 on PC and Nintendo 64.
- Earthworm Jim: Threaten 2 the Galaxy , left in 1999 on Game Boy Color.
But Shiny Entertainment is not summarized in Earthworm Jim. In 1997 the company was pointed out with very innovating MDK on PC which pushed in last the cutting off what one could then make without acceleration 3D. It was about a Jeu of objective shooting in which one found the delirious spirit suitable for Earthworm Jim. The titles following of Shiny Entertainment, namely Messiah and Sacrifice , both left in 2000, were not same success, even if Sacrifice , a Wargame in three dimensions, receipts very warm welcome with close to the specialized press and certain senior players.
In 2002 Shiny Entertainment was repurchased by Infogrames (currently named Atari) for 47 million dollars. Infogrames holding the license Matrix the development of a play based on film, Enter the Matrix, was entrusted to Shiny Entertainment. This play cost 30 million dollars, which is a record at the present time, and was one of best the sales of the year 2003, even if criticisms of the specialized press were very hard with the play at its exit. These criticisms did not démotivé the team of Shiny since it developed a second play drawn from the Matrix universe, very awaited Matrix: Path off Neo.
