Shinji Mimura

Shinji Mimura is a male character of the novel, manga and film Battle Royale. It belongs to the class the 3rd B of the municipal college of Shiroiwa (department of Kagawa) which takes part in the Program.

In film

At the beginning of the play, it intended to thwart the plans of the government by wanting déactiver the collars and areas closed with the assistance of Keita Iijima and Yukata Séto.

Using an engine, it could have electricity. With portables and a computer undoubtedly found on the island, it could thus pirate. It is a genius of data processing, that thanks to his/her uncle.

Towards the end of film, Mimura succeeds in pirating the computers in connection with the play. During this time, his/her two comrades finished the preparations that theirs with asked Mimira. Earlier, it had to ask to them to seek five ingredients (charcoal, manure, weedkillers, suffer and gas oil). They have creates thanks to that of the kingpins and other explosives. Time to prepare them on a van that Kiriyama appears and kills Séto and Iijima. Not having more the choice, it explodes the van, it dies but wounds Kiriyama. It had as arms Beretta M92F.

In the manga and the novel

Before the play starts, it is him which intervenes in front of Shuya after Yoshitoki Kuninobu was killed, avoiding worst. By always keeping its coolness, it succeeds in convincing the professor to return to the calm one. It tried to ask of the assistance for Noriko Nakagawa wounded the leg the professor, Mimura ends up giving up to save Noriko.

In the play, it will find Séto thrown into a panic and brings it in its shelter. They will make team until the end to try déactiver the collars and to explode the school where is located the professor and the soldiers as well as the computers (especially). The process is worthy of a genius, even with awkwardnesses of Séto which did not sleep since one moment. The zone where the school is being prohibited, Mimura will try to make pass the bomb by the airs. With bags of dustbins, found helium and a long cord, they could believe in it. If they succeeded, they were going both to leave by the sea, the tide being with their favor thanks to full moon. Mimura had very prepared, it wanted to send false S.O.S with its walkie-talkie in order to mislead the vigilance of the guards. Then a boat had to be found; Mimura could lead them thanks to his/her uncle. Arrived at ground, they had the choice between taking a goods train or to steal a car, with its Beretta M92F, it was possible.

All would have would have gone well if there had not been the appearance of Iijima firstly when Mimura and Séto leave the hangar. This last dies in blows of gun by Mimura (which did not rely on him, but Iijima insisted in order to join them…), which will attract Kiriyama which kills Séto and wounds Mimura seriously. This last leaves to hide in a building. Mimura tries to attract Kiriyama towards the interior in order to start the bomb. It succeeds, but Kiriyama leaves and kills there Mimura which was with half dead.

His/her uncle was adverse with the government, it passed his life to be tempted to reverse it. It is him which learned how in Mimura to keep its coolness in all the situations. It is also him which taught him the techniques from data processing. His/her uncle dies but the origin remains unknown. It receives his woman a detonator that Mimura will relate to its neck.

Mimura was a king with the tennis shoe, nobody could not exceed it. It was very good in sport, it aavait beaucoups of success near the girls. It left with several but without knowing the true love. Mimura means " three villages".

It has a little sister and it was a left-handed person.

He is played by Takashi Tsukamoto in film.
