Shine Aragonés

Shine Aragonés Suárez , known as Luis or Zapatones ( large boots ) or El sabio of Hortaleza , (born the July 28th 1938 in Hortaleza, Madrid) is a former player and trainer of Football, now selector of the national team of Spain. He played for the Atlético of Madrid during most of his career. During the years 1960 and 1970, he was an important player for the aforementioned club of Madrid, and gained Liga four times. Between 1964 and 1975, it played in 265 matches of Liga, marking 123 goals.

The career of Aragonés began at Getafe CF in 1957. In 1958, it is enlisted by the Real Madrid, without playing. In 1960 it is bought by the Real Oviedo, then by the Real Betis. It spends then 10 years to the Atlético of Madrid.

Aragonés played 11 times for the national team of Spain, marking 3 goals. Its first match took place the May 8th 1965 against the Scotland.

It involved many Spanish teams, of which the Atlético of Madrid, FC Barcelona, FC Seville, the Valence CF, the Espanyol Barcelona, the Real Betis, the Real Oviedo and RCD Mallorca.

It is known to have held of the racist remarks (" black of merde") towards Thierry Henry in 2004, for which it bailed out of a fine of 3.000 €.
