Shilhak-Inshushinak
Shilhak-Inshushinak is a king élam ite having reigned of -1150 with -1120. He is the son of Shutruk-Nahhunte, and succeeds his older brother Kutir-Nahhunte {{III}}. Its reign is regarded as marking the apogee of the kingdom élamite.
From the political point of view, it continues on the impetus of its two predecessors, who had conquered the kingdom of Babylon, by eliminating the dynasty Kassite. It launches forwardings in direction of the North-West, in the mounts Zagros, where it subjects various small kings, before directly threatening the territory subjected to the kingdom of Assyrie, going up until Arrapha. But a revolt in Babylonia pushes it to turn back. The king of Isin, Ninurta-nadin-shumi, succeeds in driving out Élamites and taking again Babylon. Shilhak-Inshushinak proves to be unable to counter-attack, and its reign is completed on this failure.
Shilhak-Inshushinak also carried out many restorations of temples, especially in the town of Suse, where it rebuilt the temple of the large god Inshushinak and that of Ninhursag.
