The Shih Tzu is a Race of Chien pertaining to the group of the dogs of Tibet.

History

The origins of Shih-Tzu are very old. According to the legend, they would maintain the close links with the lioness of snows, which, in Tibet, is symbol of the wellbeing. This is why they are named thus. Indeed, Shih Tzu means dog Lion. First Shih Tzu with being introduced in China, were gifts offered to the Empereur S Chinese by the Dalai Lama, towards 200 before J. - C. It are known as that Shih Tzu ensured the sovereigns their prestige. However, it was only at the XIXe century that an empress éprit of these puppies, besides that one called the Perles of the empress and ensures a breeding of a hundred dogs in the prohibited Cité. To died the latter and with the fall of the empire, Shih Tzu left the Prohibited City. Finally, in 1930, the first couple of Shih Tzu arrives in England then in 1953, the Countess of Anjou introduces this race in France.

Of a very sociable naturalness, the shih tzu is the ideal companion. Calm and posed, it slackens its entourage from its nonchalance, it however likes to run and adores to have fun, it is a dog very player who needs to make exercise. You will practically never hear the sound of its voice, it is a dog which barks only if something disturbs it or if he sees an unknown. The shih tzu is a dog provocant towards the other dogs, but very nice and affectionate towards the human being!

Particular care

Like any dog with long hairs, Shih Tzu requires for a particular maintenance, in particular if it has a mainly white dress. It is however possible of toiletter the shih-tzu not taking part in the exposures out of cut baby to avoid a tiresome maintenance. It is also necessary to regularly supervise the state of its ears (depilation of the auditory canal) and of its eyes to avoid any problem. It often should be checked its hairs so that it does not catch chips (it is a dog which can be dirtied while being frequently rolled in mud).
