Sherman is a city located in the county of Fairfield, in the State of the Connecticut (the United States). According to the census of 2000, Sherman had a total population of 3.827 inhabitants.

Geography

According to the Office of the Census of the United States, surface of the east city of 60,5 km ², including 56,5 km ² of grounds and 4,0 km ² of water levels (either 6,68%).

Demography

According to the Census of 2000, there were 3.827 inhabitants, 1.434 households, and 1.092 families in the city. The Population density was of 67,8 hab/km ². There were 1.606 houses with a density of 28,4 maisons/km ². The ethnic decomposition of the population was: 97,36% white; 0,55% black; 0,03% Amerindian; 0,68% Asian S; 0,08% natives of the islands of the Peaceful ; 0,63% of the other races; 0,68% of two or more races. 1,72% of the population were Hispanique or Latino of any race.

There were 1.434 households, of which 34,6% had children of less than 18 years, 68,3% were married couples , 5,2% had a woman who was isolated relative, and 23,8% were not-family households. 18,8% of the households were made up people alone and 7,9% 65 years people alone or more. The average household comprised 2,67 people and the average family had 3,09 people.
