Shemiran

Shemiran (in Persan: شمیران, sometimes called Shemiranat ) is the name of the northern part of the town of Teheran, in Iran. It is the district more in north of the town of Teheran. It is also the name of one of the departments of the Province of Teheran.

Shemiran is built on the slopes of the Mounts Alborz and enjoys a moderate climate. The district has fine parks and held goods and accommodates also the upper classes of the Iranian company. The majority of the embassades and the International exhibition of Teheran are located at Shemiran.

Shemiran was the residence of summer of the Shah of the dynaties Qajar and Pahlavi, which built several palates and villas in the zone, such as for example, the Palais of Sa' dabad and the Palais of Niavaran.

One finds there also the Imam Zadeh Saleh and the old house of the Imam Khomeini

The districts of Shemiran are: Darakeh, Darband, Niavaran, Elahiyeh, Farmanieh, Zafaraniyeh, Gheytarieh, and Jamaran.
