Sheikh Bahai

Aldine Baha' Al 'Amili , known as Sheikh Bahai , was a poet soufi, philosopher, mathematician, astronomer, Arab alchemist of the 17th century. Born in 1546 with Baalbek, with the Lebanon, it emigrates in Iran at the 13 years age. After having studied with Qazvin then with Hérat, travelled in Syria, Egypt, and Iraq, it is established with Isfahan. Important public figure under the sovereign safavide Shah Abbas 1 {{er}}, it takes part in the design of the Mosquée of the Shah and works out there the solar clock which indicates the hour of the prayer to semi-day. He dies in 1622 with Isfahan, and is buried with Mashhad. Its literary work consists of poems epic, as well as legal collections.
