History of the mask

At 15 years, Shawn walked in a shopping mall with his/her girlfriend of the time that it was supposed to invite to the restaurant. They pass to two front a joke and novelty shop and in the window is a mask of clown. Shawn remains in extase in front of and between requiring the price. His/her girlfriend reminds to him gentillement that they are to go to the restaurant and not to buy “a stupid” mask. The week according to, the mask was in the room of Shawn, but it is only one ten years that it will carry it at the time of a repetition of Slipknot, “just to later make the puppet”, like it says.

According to Shawn, its mask represents the side merry and happy, childish vision of the character, but it shows also what really hides behind the mask. Traditional mask of clown, one passed to an aggressive mask bald person equipped with Crete to nail. For Iowa, it engraved a pentagram on the face, one 666 on the face and a piece of missing cranium letting foresee the brain often to sprinkle blood of pig simulating of the blood of human. For vol. 3: (The Subliminal Pour), it is a mask which makes us more think of a mummy that a clown has. Indeed this one is made of white strips and is decorated (in the medium) with a nose of clown.

Tattooings

Shawn Crahan has the logo of SlipKnot on a calf. This one had been added with the tatoo of “Pinhead” (character of “Hellraiser”) on a shoulder, name of his Japanese wife on the other shoulder and of an elephant drawn in the same spirit as “Pinhead”.
