Shawangunk Ridge
Shawangunk Ridge (or Shawangunk Mountains , or The Gunks ) is an assembly line located in the state of New York, which belongs to the the Appalachian Mountains. It extends at the border from the state from the New Jersey.
The orthography is an approximation Dutch E of the word Lenape " Chongumme, " (/ˈʃɑŋgʌm/) and several of the local residents pronounce it this manner.
