Pierre Deligne is a Belgian Mathématicien , born the October 3rd 1944 with Brussels (Belgium).

Pierre Deligne is graduate Universit3e libre de Bruxelles in 1966. He supported a thesis of doctorate in 1968, carried out under the direction of Alexander Grothendieck with the Institut of the High Scientific studies (IHÉS) close to Paris.

Pierre Deligne in particular received the Médaille Fields in 1978 for his proof of the conjectures of Weil in algebraic Géométrie and the Prix Crafoord in 1988.

He published important work in many fields of mathematics, of which the theory of Hodge, the modular forms, conjectures of Langlands and the theory of the representations.
