Printing works

In Printing works, the shaping is the final stage at the end of the impression. It is this series of actions which will give to the work its final aspect. It is made up of a stage of Pliure, old Massicot and Reliure (Grecquage, gluing,…)

Joinery

In Joinery, the shaping is the whole of operations making it possible to transform the wood in the rough into a part of a semi-manufacture or an end product, these operations are the Délignage, the Sciage, the Profilage and the Moulurage.

These operations of shaping generate the waste named according to their size or their form: falls, chips or sawdusts which will be them even again worked for the realization of reconstituted sawn timber, particle boards, or animal litter.

Prehistory

Within the framework of the lithic study of the industries S, prehistoric or not, the term shaping indicates an operation of size which consists in detaching from the glares of a block in order to carve a tool gradually, for example a Biface or a preform of polished axe. The glares are here the by-products and the worked block is the required object.
