BiographyThe Abbé Angot indicates that all the authors name wrongly it Nicolas-Joseph, or Nicolas-Jean. It belongs to a family of Laval-native tradesmen, quoted in 1551 among the notable ones of Changé, living the district of Bootz.
Master be-arts of the faculty of Angers, 1698, then graduate in theology, it is provided the April 30th 1716 per Roger with Crévy, bishop of the Mans, a canonicat to the collegiate church Saint-Michel of Laval, after death of Jean Guerin and on presentation of Henri de Montbourcher, lord of Poligné.
Jansenist like the majority of its fellow-members, it takes share with the doctrinal fights of its time and writes two works on the liturgy.
