Shane Filan

Shane Steven Filan is member of the pop group Irish Westlife. Filan is one of the five founding members of the group, with Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Brian McFadden (which left the group in 2004). Before Westlife, Shane, Mark and Kian belonged to a group named I.O.U.

Biography

Shane was born the July 5th 1979 with Sligo, in the North-West of Ireland. It is the last of seven children. It has three brothers (Peter, Finbarr and Liam) and three sisters (Yvonne, Denise and Mairead). His/her parents, Peter and Mae, were owners of a restaurant with Sligo, Carlton Café, where Shane works as of its more young age. In 2003, when Peter and Mae decide to close the restaurant, Shane transforms it into clothes shop. The Shane young person is impassioned by the horses and plans to become accountant, but it is however the music which it will choose. Fan of Michael Jackson, it takes part in the twelve years age to a representation of the musical comedy Grease organized by his school, Summerhill College. It is there that it meets Kian Egan and Mark Feehily.

Shane Filan is one of the principal voices of Westlife, and Co-writing also of the songs for the group, in particular:

Shane married Gillian Walsh, the December 28th 2003. They are parents of a fore-mentioned little girl Nicole, born the July 23rd 2005
