Shahre kord شهركرد is a city in the west of the Iran, capital of the province of Chahar Mahaal O Bakhtiari. It is located at 107 km in the south-west of Esfahan and at 521 km in the south-west of the capital, Teheran.

In the beginning, the city was called Dehkord , which means " village of the Kurdish ". Its name was changed into 1935 in Shahre kord , i.e. " the city of Kurdes" , in order to reflect the urban growth and the increase in the population.

The city traditionally produces bricks, mosaics and fabrics, inter alia.
