Shahr-i Sokhteh or Shahr-i Sokhta (literally " brûlée" city; in Persan) is a site Archéologique dating from the Bronze Age located in the south-east of the Iran, with the Sistan. The city is located on bank of the river Helmand and at the edge of the road connecting Zahedan to Zabol.

The site was excavated by Iranian teams and Italy in the years 1970 and 1980. It is there that were found what would be the oldest play of Backgammon, the oldest seeds of Carvi in addition to many others discovered of objects out of metal.
