Shah Alam II (1728 - 1806) was the last sovereign of the dynasty of the Timourides in the India.

It was in turn the toy of the English and the Marathes, whose its weakness and its irresolution increased the audacity more and more. Its reign was balanced in particular by the loss of the moghole influence on the Bengal, sealed following the Bataille of Buxar (1764).

One of its vassal, Ghulam Qadir, tried of the détrôner, and, after being itself seized its person, the eyes in to him 1788 burst; but it undergoes soon the punishment of its crime, and Alam Shah was given in possession of his crown. The unfortunate sovereign reigned still 18 years, and died in 1806.
