Geography

The territory of Seyssel-Savoy low occupies the point of the department of the Haute-Savoie: this point is the confluence of the Fier and the the Rhone, whose altitude above the sea level is only of 250 meters.

    Le Barrage of Seyssel is a single construction in its kind. The turbines are located under the right part (or Is, because here the Rhone runs north in the south). Its main role is the regulation of the flow of the Rhone, downstream from the Barrage of Génissiat.

  • the old bridge
    Le old suspended bridge of Seyssel goes back to 1838. It is one of oldest in its kind. One observes in his top a statue of the virgin, protective of the boatmen. Seyssel corresponds indeed, of time when the Rhone was navigable, at the highest point of navigability.
