Seydou Elimane Diarra is a politician of the Ivory Coast, born the November 23rd 1933 with Katiola. It is originating in the Moslem north of the Ivory Coast and . It made party of the office of the old sole party, PDCI, but is marked little politically.
Stock-broker of the French Republic, it studied with La Rochelle then obtained a diploma for the occupation of agricultural engineer to Montpellier.
Civil servant with the ministry for Agriculture, it is arrested like “agitator” in 1963 and is imprisoned two years. He is then rehabilitated, and becomes president of the Caistab, the Fund stabilization which was used as black case with the sole party. He is named Ambassadeur with the Brésil (1970 - 1977), then in several European countries until 1985.
He refuses a ministerial wallet in 1985 and takes the direction of the SACO, processing undertaking of the Cacao. He is president of the Chamber of commerce and industry of Ivory Coast.
He is Prime Minister during the military transition from the general Guéï of December 99 to October 2000, and refuses the same station proposed by Gbagbo when that seizes the power. He chairs then the National forum of reconciliation from October December 2001, succeeding in making there come the principal leaders of the Ivory Coast: Henri Konan Bédié, Laurent Gbagbo, Alassane Ouattara and Robert Guéï.
Of January 2003 with the December 4th 2005, he is the Prime Minister for the government of reconciliation pursuant to the agreements of Marcoussis. In May 2004, running up against president Gbagbo, it was about to resign in front of its lack of will to apply the peace agreements.
