Comments
The series was an immediate success as of its first diffusion in
1999.
The characteristic of the series rests on the fact that, for the first time on the small screen, about the women speak very crûment about their sexual life. In addition, heroins, and in particular Carrie, seem icons of mode, going even until launching new tendencies. Far from incarnating models of perfection, one can be easily identified with each one of enters. And it is also that which makes the success of the series: awkwardnesses of these thirty year in research of the ideal man touch us. We vibrate with them at the rate/rhythm of their sentimental vexations, often asking us the same questions.
One can note that all heroins show their chest with the screen except for Carrie Bradshaw which will explain have no possibility to do it because of its decency.
Sex and the City was criticized for its easy characters, of white color and for its ignorance of the New Yorkean population of color, poorer as those which live in the poorest districts of New York. The characters themselves were shown to be élitistes.
The creator, Darren Star, is also the author of Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, with Heather Locklear, and it produced the series Miss Match , with Alicia Silverstone.
One counts with the number of the scenario writers of the series Allan Heinberg.
The official coming out date in the United States of the film Sex and the City , directly inspired of the series of the same name, was announced: the film will be distributed in the rooms starting from May 30th, 2008.
