Sewing machine

History
The first sewing machine really functional is allotted to Barthélemy Thimonnier, tailor French of Amplepuis (the Rhone) which deposited of it the Brevet in 1830. The sewing machine with shuttle, functioning with the feet with a pedal was patented on May 12th, 1868 by Pierre Carmien. Patent and name were sold with the Famille Peugeot which manufactured it with Audincourt. With the World Fair of Paris of 1878, the Légion of honor was decreed with Benjamin Peugeot, manufacturer of the sewing machine.
