Geography
Sévrier is located at the west of the Lac of Annecy and at the east of the Massif of Semnoz. The commune is established on a narrow strip of land which borders the lake and which is widening while going down towards the south. The village is located at 456m altitude but the commune extends until 1.100m. It forms also part of the Solid mass of the Wallows. There are agricultural land and a forest mainly made up of fir trees. The climate is rather hot in summer and soft in winter. The cycle track is located at the edge of the lake, it goes from Annecy to Marlens, it makes 35 kilometers. Sevrier is located on the axis Annecy Albertville, the ciculation is dense which causes many stoppers. a project of tunnel under Semnoz has been being studied for 20 years…
Administration
Sévrier and the communes established in the west of the lake, also called “left bank”, gathered in a Communauté of agglomeration: the the Community of communes of Left bank of the Annecy Lake. One thus finds there the Vault-Saint-Maurice, Duingt, Entrevernes, Leschaux, Saint-Eustace and Saint-Jorioz.The mayor being Pierre Hérisson (senator) but who is also the President of the SILA (Intercommunity association of the Annecy Lake or Mixed trade-union of the Annecy Lake). the mayor-assistant is André Thomasson (owner of the miniature golf of the port).

History
<à compléter> Sevrier was already known of Romains" Sevriacus". A Roman way, which carried out of Annecy to Faverge crossed it. The hamlet of Létraz draws its name from this road (" Etraz" Latin " stratum" , word indicating the paving of the roads). The church of Sevrier which is located " Place égise" go back to 1877, it has a Gothic style néo. The Priory is in ruins. The town hall which served also school was built in 1948. The foundry of Paccard bells, founded in 1796, settled in Sevrier in 1989. Each year, several hundreds of bells intended for the whole world leave the workshops including 70% for export. Since the beginning of the company, it is more than 80.000 bells which were molten. On the " place of Mairie" a large ball of 39 tons 640 is, 3 meters in diameter. This block of granite of Combloux at summer cut in the mass, by Mr. Tunetti, of 1965 à1968.
