Severstal

Severstal is a iron and steel Entreprise Russian held mainly by the Russian billionaire Alexeï Mordachov.

The May 25th 2006, Arcelor and Severstal announced their bringing together, in order to counter tender offer hostile impetus by Mittal Steel against Arcelor. Finally, the agreement becomes null and void following the repurchase of Arcelor by Mittal Steel. In 2006 Severstal records 12,423 billion dollars of receipts and 1,18 billion dollar of clear benefits. (It is perhaps not useless, to allow a better comprehension of the names of the Russian companies, to specify that sever wants to say " nord" - with the opposite of youg' which wants to say " sud" - stal which wants to say steel).

SEVERSTAL - Automobile division

After negotiations which continued during most of the year 2005, on January 3rd, 2006, FIAT S.p.A. and Severstal Auto signed an industrial cooperation agreement and bearing financier on the creation of a joint venture with transfer of licenses of manufacture of cars FIAT Auto, of commercial vehicles FIAT Professional, of industrial vehicles Iveco and agricultural machinery and Work Public CNH.

Severstal will market the whole of the automobile range of the group FIAT as of the summer 2006, through its automobile distribution network and its dealers.

September 11th, 2007, FIAT Group SpA Cars and Severstal announced the creation of a complete joint-venture 50/50 in the manufacture and the sale of vehicles FIAT for the Russian market. The new factory will be integrated in the world network of production FIAT Car.

Division cars of FIAT S.p.A. will provide to the Russian company, starting from its Turkish subsidiary company FIAT - Tofas, bases CKD for the assembly in a new factory of Naberejniye Chelni in the area of the Volga, as from the 4th quarter 2006, of the models:

FIAT Palio truck and SW,
FIAT Albea,
FIAT Linea, as from 2008, whose manufacture began in March 2007 in Turkey,
FIAT Doblo',

Of dimensioned sound, FIAT Professional will provide starting from its Italian and Brazilian sites the elements in CKD of FIAT Ducato 3rd generation, code ZFA-244.

This agreement is independent of the bringing together between Lada-AvtoVAZ and FIAT Auto for the transfer of licenses for new Lada models.

Severgal is a joint venture held by Severstal.

SEVERSTAL - Divisions heavy trucks - farm equipment and public works

Iveco and CNH (New-Holland Box) concluded a similar agreement on March 3rd, 2006, whose practical methods will be revealed soon.
