The Seventh Government of New Caledonia elected since the Agreements of Noumea, also said Second government Martin , was elected the August 21st 2007 at 4 p.m. by the Congrès resulting from the elections of the May 9th 2004, and following the resignation of the preceding executive the very same day of its election the August 6th. As at the time of the preceding poll, there were only two lists candidates: a list linking the anti-freedom fighters resulting from the two formations up to now opposite but which approached since the national elections 2007, the Avenir together and the Gathering-UMP, which joined together 35 votes (either a voice of less than what one could suppose being the distribution of the political families to the Congrès, Christiane Gambey, only elected independence of the Avenir together, having decided to vote white) and 7 members out of 11 with the government (4 Avenir together and 3 RPCR), and an independence single list which added up 18 votes, or 4 members elected with government (two PLAIN - FLNKS and two Union calédonienne, is a member moreover than in the three preceding governments). The same day, at 5 p.m., its members appointed their president (Harold Martin) and their vice-president (Déwé Gorodey). The 23 and August 24th 2007, the sectors of competence were distributed between the various members of the government.
