Seven Around the World
Seven around of the World is a magazine devoted to ecology and discovered world, intended for the young people, CM1 with 3rd (10-15 years). It was created by Cabrera Editions, a young Parisian publisher. The first number is appeared in January 2007, after a first test diffused in October with the Salon of the Book for Youth of Montreuil and with the Biennale of the Notebook of Voyage, in Clermont-Ferrand.
The newspaper is centered around the adventures of a young boy, named " Sept" , which traverses the world on board a sailing ship " solaire" accompanied by his/her parents and a group of young students come from all the continents. This long round the world tour, which will last more than 1.000 days, enables them to go to the meeting of different people, to discover local initiatives for sustainable development, or to draw the attention of young people to the great dangers threatening planet. The series was imagined in 2003 by M.R. Carrier, an author of origin Belgian, and formatted by the illustrator Prisca Baverey] and Jaime Jimenez (decorations and colors).
Each number contains a file ecology, devoted to a broad topic of the moment (oil, cast iron of the glaciers, warming of the Mediterranean, whaling…), like two accounts of voyage (a French area and a foreign destination). The subjects " voyage" are developed in the form of notebooks of voyage or reports.
The magazine also introduces cartoons (" Jean-Eudes" , " Robinchon, the naufragé" and strips of " Mancholand" ).
Two other series are in preparation: " Randoz" , created by Miguel Ramis and illustrated by Vincent Carrara, and " The Blanche" Source; , a series of science fiction created by M.R. Carrier and illustrated by Mathieu Binand.
Two blogs make it possible to take part in the life of the newspaper, like with the writing of the adventures of Sept.
