Servius Sulpicius Galba was used as military Tribun in the 2nd legion in Macedonia, under Lucius Aemilius Paullus Macedonicus, with which it was personally hostile. In -167, after having conquered Macedonia and overcome Persée, Aemilius returned to Rome. Bent tried to prevent its triumph, but does not succeed, although its efforts to arrive there were considerable.

Problems in Lusitanie

In -151, Galba is Préteur, and receives the Hispanie as a province, continuing a war against the Celtibères. On its arrival, it saves some Roman subjects which were threatened by Lusitanians.
