The Holy Week occupies a particular place in the festivals of Nisseno. This important religious tradition begins holy Wednesday with Real Maestranza. The Maundy Thursday takes place the procession of the Vare , 16 coffins on which are posed groups of large statues out of wooden, papier-m4ach3e and plaster, representing the passion of Christ.Holy saturdays, all the inhabitants of the village and the close villages meet in front of the church of San Giuseppe and start a procession while passing by all the churches of the village. It is completed on a hillock to represent the passion of Christ. This festival is locally called the scinenza .
