Seronatus was a character of the Gaulle Ve century.
He is known by several letters of Sidoine Apollinaire, which calls it the " Catilina of our temps" (Ep. VII, 7,2). It exerted functions legal official (perhaps as vicar of the Seven Provinces, or vicar of the Préfet of the court of Gaules) in what remained province of Aquitaine first still escaping the capacity from the close kingdom from the Visigoths, and in particular in Auvergne. It raised heavy taxes, and worked for the interests of the king Euric at the court of which it went sometimes. In 469, it let Euric seize vast territories of its jurisdiction.
Finally shown treason, it was carried out undoubtedly in 471, not having profited from the support which Arvandus had had.
