Serlienne
The serlienne is a grouping of three bay S whose central bay is covered with a arc in semicircular arch, the two side bays are covered with a lintel (or an arc in plat band) with height of the Imposte. The side bays are generally narrower than the central bay, in the extreme cases, they can be restricted at one day narrow between the oven wall of the serlienne (outside) and the column or the Pilier receiving the springing of the central arch. It is a typical for architecture mannerist and Venetian reason, quoted for the first time by the Italian Architecte Sebastiano Serlio in its treaty Tutte operates it will architettura and prospetiva (from where the name of “serlienne”). They are in fact a variation the ancient Roman triumphal arches. Andrea Palladio generalizes the use of the serlienne thereafter, in particular the arcades of the Palazzo della Ragione with Vicence (see the illustration), the Villa Godi or the Villa Forni-Cerato, etc it is from there that the other denomination comes from the serlienne: the “palladienne”.
