The rail-cars of the series 41 of SNCB (also called AR41) are most recent (and only still in service) on the Belgian network. They were built by ALSTOM in 2000-2002. The provision of the colors is the same one as for the AM 96.

They are in service since 2002 and are useful on the following not electrified lines:

  • central Antwerp - Neerpelt/Hasselt (the train is divided in Mol)
  • Ghent Dampoort - Eeklo
  • Of Pint - Oudenaarde - Renaix
  • Miss - Zottegem - Grammont
  • Alost - Burst
  • Southern Charleroi - Dining Couvin
  • - Bertrix - Dining Libramont
  • - Bertrix - Virton

One sometimes also uses them on the electrified lines, for example the train of rush hour Courtrai - Audenarde and the evening like local train Audenarde - Courtrai - Bruges.

It was built by it 96: initially 80, and thereafter sixteen additional specimens.

The satisfaction of the travellers about these rail-cars is mitigated enough: this modern material replaced a very out-of-date material in the majority of the cases, but in addition the first classes especially are qualified the poor ones.

Rail-car 41 is also prone to small fires. Already some cars entirely burned. On May 18th and 19th 2007, respectively in Berchem and Geel, two cars burned. Another around Hasselt.
