Series 15 (SNCB)
The series 15 is a series of five locomotive electric polycourant ordered in 1962 by SNCB to be able to tractor draw the international trains on the line TEE Paris - Brussels - Amsterdam.
At the beginning of the Years 1980, lack power to tractor draw the increasingly heavy trains TEE, the motor coaches of series 15 were replaced by the French engines DC 40100 between Paris and Brussels, however continuing to carry out the connection Brussels - Amsterdam until the end of the Années 1980, where they were incompatible with the new system of indication set up at the Netherlands. The engines of series 15 were then put at the head of the international trains between Liege and Paris, while being gradually incorporated in the Belgian interior service, in particular on the line Ostend - Liege, and with the head of convoys of freight.
Whereas their radiation approached with great steps (they had been put at the park in December 2000), the motor coaches of series 15 were reinstated on the lines lately electrified under 25 Kv, because of the lack of motor coaches circulating under this tension. They are currently used to tractor draw the trains P (trains circulating only at the rush hours to reinforce the service) between Liege and Luxembourg. Their radiation should not however delay.
