Michel Jeury is a French writer born in 1934. Its novels marked the literature of French Science-fiction of the years 1970.
Biography
Michel Jeury was born in January 1934 with Eymet, in the Dordogne, in a country family. While helping with the agricultural work of his parents, it continues its studies and obtains the vat in 1952. In the current of the years 1950, he writes several novels, of science fiction then of general literature, while working. Three novels will be published, but without success.Jeury ceases writing, exerts various trades (teacher, medical representative, representative, etc). In 1967, it ceases any regular community activity. It then gradually recovers to write and will finish the manuscript of its novel dubious time in 1972. Appeared the following year, this book inaugurates a career of writer of science fiction which will last nearly twenty years, with the publication of several tens of novels.

With the beginning of the year 1950, Michel Jeury writes three science-fiction novels. The two first will be published only in 1960, under the titles of To stars of the destiny and the machine of the capacity and under the pseudonym of Albert Higon, in the collection the fantastic Ray . The third will remain new then will be stray. Meanwhile, Jeury writes novels of general literature. The first is not published; the second, in whom he tells in form fictionalized its démélées with the Communist party, appears at Julliard in 1958 pennies the title the devil smiling . A third novel is refused. During this period, three news of Jeury/Higon appears in reviews.
The years 1970
The publication of the book dubious Time , in 1973, in the prestigious collection Elsewhere and tomorrow at Laffont made large impression. It was about a novel pointing out the style of Philip K. Dick, very appreciated in France at the time, while having obviously integrated the influence of the Nouveau novel. Into this book, Jeury introduces the idea of chronolyse , a kind of distortion of time, and it uses rather particular techniques of writing, with in particular the use of repetitive sequences : the same scene reproduces several times during the novel, with light differences. Moreover, the novel puts in scene a future which introduced like possible industrial tyrannies of the future by indicating their vectors explicitly: multinationals. (Gerard Klein).The following year appears to the Monkeys of time , in the same collection. It is about a second shutter on the chronolyse, with a type of writing which continues the experiments of the preceding book. Always in the collection Elsewhere and tomorrow , Jeury publishes the long utopian news entitled the festival of the change in the collective collection judiciously titrated Utopias 1975 . In 1976 finally hot Sun appears, fish the depths , a novel as ambitious as the precedents. It is not any more question of chronolyse, but of a burst future, where the parcelling out of the writing reflects that of the described company: always multinationals, plus the data-processing networks.
Michel Jeury is then a recognized author, who multiplies the publications in order to be able to live of his feather. He thus will make appear novels plus general public in popular editors (I read, Black Fleuve) in parallel with his speculative novels. It ressuscite a time Albert Higon to publish Animals of justice in 1976 then the Day of the ways in 1977. He also writes bound for the specifically adolescent public: the green Sand glass in 1977 and Le Monde of Lignus in 1978.
It also publishes in collaboration. After many news Co-written with Katia Alexandre, it publishes in 1977 the Empire of the people , signed Albert Higon, written with Pierre Marlson.
Several important novels appear then back-to-back in various editors. Pony-Dragon , in 1978, joins again with the interrogations over time: a traveller of the destiny is projected regularly in a future fascist and close, and must find who is, in the world of today, the future dictator. the Universe-shade , in 1979, puts in scene, with quasi ethnographic descriptions, a quickly disturbed Utopia: somebody has awaked the Capacity… The same year 1979 are also published the human Territory and the Children of Bites .
The years 1980
The production of Michel Jeury increases in quantity. It publishes many novels with the Black River, in the collection Anticipation , specialized in the science fiction of adventure. from 1979 to 1988, it will make appear nearly a score of works in this editor.It publishes in 1981 the biography of his parents, of which it ensured the drafting: the crêt of Fonbelle. People of the mount Pilat .
In parallel, he still writes speculative novels. Elsewhere and tomorrow makes appear in 1980 the giant Eyes , a novel full with flying saucers, then the Sphere and the Wheel in 1982. The series the colmateurs is based on the theory of the fractales to imagine worlds multiple which communicate between them by faults, that the colmateurs are charged… to clog. This series comprises various news and three novels: This Ground (1981), flight of the snake (1982) and demons of Jerusalem (1985). The novel the Play of the World , appeared in 1985, receives the price Julia Verlanger in 1986. The same year appears the Cross and the Lioness .
Country novels
the true taste of the life is published in 1988. It is about a country novel, which marks the rupture with science fiction. It will be followed by the second volume entitled an insane grass Odor . Among the novels which follow, let us quote the Year of certif the , price Charles Exbrayat 1995. Jeury will improve with the science fiction only punctually, by publishing for example the Cat come from the future , (1998), Co-writing with his/her daughter Dany Jeury.
