Sergio García , born the January 9th 1980 with Castellón of Planed, is a Golf Spanish or
Called El Niño , it begins the golf very early. It obtains to its first results while becoming at 14 years the youngest player of the history to pass the cut in a tournament of the Circuit European. The same year, he becomes also the youngest winner of the European championship amateur.
Passed professional in 1999 just after having carried out the low score of an amateur to the Masters, it obtains what remains still its best result in a tournament of the Grand Slam with one 2nd place with USPGA 1999 after a formidable duel with Tiger Woods at the time of the last turn. The same year, it gains its first tournaments over the European circuit and becomes the youngest golfor to be taken part in the Ryder Cup. It contributes enormously to the three victories in the following editions of 2002, 2004 and 2006. Its assessment is eloquent besides: 10 shared victories, 3 defeats, 2 parts.
In 2001, it gains its first tournaments over the circuit PGA, circuit where it plays from now on in priority.
July 22nd, 2007, it lets escape the victory which seemed to him promised in British Open of Carnoustie (Scotland). After having carried out during the 4 days of the tournament, a series of missed blows place it at equality with the Irishman Padraig Harrington, who finally carries it at the conclusion of the play-off.
