Serge Rezvani
Serge Rezvani (born in 1928) is a painter and writer French. He is author of Romance, of parts of Théâtre, translations, songs. He is known also, in particular for his songs, under the Pseudonyme of Cyrus Bassiak
Biography
Serge Rezvani was born in Iran in 1928. His/her father was Iranian, his mother was emigrated Russian.
Il arrives in France at the one year age. It passes its childhood in various pensions of Russian emigrants.
At fifteen years he flees of one of these pensions to become painter. He will be painter during more than twenty years, until the day when painting having lost any significance for him, he starts to write. In 1950, it meets his wife “Lula”, who will be the subject of several of her novels. Before becoming acquainted with Daniele (" Lula"), it had been married very little time with Pauline Lanzmann, the sister of Jacques Lanzmann. He and Daniele marry and leave very quickly Paris to settle in the south of France, with the Guard-Freinet. They move into a house hidden in the vegetation called " Béate" and there will remain several tens of years.
In 1961, it takes part in famous film of François Truffaut: Jules and Jim , by composing the song the Swirl interpreted by Jeanne Moreau and by playing itself in film, under the pseudonym of Bassiak, the role of Albert.
Jean-Luc Godard also orders to him two songs of Pierrot insane the , sung by Anna Karina.
In 1999, it goes back to painting and remakes an exposure.
In 2000, Mona Heftre, which was illustrated in the troop of Jerome Savary, takes again its songs in an album Tantôt red, sometimes blue . It takes again in 2004 a second album Embrasse me .
Rezvani is today in Paris, he undertook to record the integral of his songs and married in October 2005 with the actress Marie-Jose Nat. Like he says: “I am amputee. I do not remake my life, I continue it differently… ”.
