Serge Lafaurie

Serge Lafaurie is a French journalist of left.

Born in 1928, it is resulting from a medium pertaining to the Protestant middle-class of Le Havre. In 1940, it settles with its family in Paris, which it will not leave any more.

It carries out its first steps in journalism within the Protestant weekly magazine Réforme starting from 1949. It leaves it in 1953 to return to the Express train where it binds friendship with Jean Daniel, André Gorz and K.S. Karol. Nephew of Jacques-Laurent Bost, it fits then in the current sartrien. During the war of Algeria, it will be one of the signatories of Proclamation of the 121.

But if its anti Colonialisme agrees with the line of the Express train until the end of the Guerre of Algeria, the new formula which Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber in 1964 wishes to launch the conduit at the beginning. In November 1964, it integrates " new Observateur" with the title of editor association, at the side of Hector de Galard with which it will bind of a durable friendship. In 1985, he becomes director of the drafting at the side of Franz-Olivier Giesbert, and will continue to divide this title with Laurent Joffrin, then with Bernard Guetta, then again with Laurent Joffrin, until the departure of this one, in November 2006.
